Welcome to our class page! This page will give you lots of information about what we are currently learning in Year 2.
Class Teacher: Mrs A Graham
Teaching Assistant: Miss S Chittim
Our current Mini-mission is...
Through the Keyhole
Throughout this topic, we will be looking closely 'through the keyhole' into habitats of various animals, for example we will find polar bears in the arctic tundra and tree frogs in the tropical rainforest. We will be exploring why animals are suited to their habitat and what they like to eat to survive.
To launch our new topic, the children went on a scavenger hunt to find lots of key vocabulary, pictures and keyholes. The children explored the habitats through each keyhole, matched the animal to its habitat and discussed which key vocabulary was best suited to each habitat.
You will find lots of useful videos all about habitats on the BBC Bitesize website.
In Maths we are learning about...
We have learnt that a fraction is a part of a whole! We explored this by finding equal and unequal parts. We then began to find one half of an object or amount.
